Kworld rebate rip-off ALERT!
Don't buy Kworld products with rebates; all rebates are handled directly by Kworld. Typical Kworld rebate scamming scenario: they'll sit on your rebate until you contact them, then they may pay, ignore you, or make some ridiculous excuse why your rebate has been voided with no possibilities of resubmission. Search the web and see all the people they've angered. A legitimate company will strive to help their customers with problems, these people strive to give their customers the shaft. If you've been had, please file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) against this rebate scamming company... http://www.labbb.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Bu...=100020625&sm= |

Well by your own post this is not a bad company ,not the best, but then again not that bad.
RATING by BBB:
"B" Quote: |
A good rating that still implies reputability. The rating may relate to length of time in business, a past problem that’s been corrected, or something else that does not cause problems for consumers. We believe a company with this rating would generally conduct business and respond to any complaints satisfactorily.
| In the last 36 months they have gotten 23 reports and settled all but 6. Rebates are always tricky, you must follow the rebate terms exactly, or they are void.
Oh, and welcome to RR. |

Oh, and welcome to RR. | I spoke to BBB, Kworld has only been a member for about ONE month. In about one month's time, 23 individuals were angry enough to fill complaints. Considering low percent of people actually submitting their rebates, fewer people following up on unreceived rebates, and even fewer people angry enough (who were unable to resolve the matter directly with the company) to do something about it, 23 complaints in ONE location in about one month is telling.
In my case, I submitted the ONLY barcode that was on my box and Kworld said it was the WRONG barcode. I provided a photograph of another box proving the barcode was from their box (they could have easily verified this from the boxes they had at their office) and still Kworld says it was the wrong barcode. No where on their rebate form does it specify what numbers should be on the barcode, merely "Original UPC barcode cut from retail box." That was exactly what I did. I was in full compliance of the rebate requirements. Here's the kicker, Kworld puts the entire blame on Newegg (where I purchased the product) for my box not having the correct barcode! Does that sound like a company who wants to help their customers? When I informed Newegg of what Kworld had said, Newegg representative laughed in disgust of Kworld's absurd excuse. Hopefully, Newegg will come through with the full rebate amount. I've been submitting rebates for years, and believe me, I know enough to follow instructions, keep copies, and follow up. I've just never ran into a company so unwilling to resolve problems but only to turn a blind eye.

Mail-in Rebates
For your convenience, Newegg.com does its best to advertise any current rebates on our web site. Any use of these rebates is limited to the terms and conditions specified by the product manufacturer. If you have any questions regarding rebate terms and conditions, please contact the manufacturer directly.

I really don't know how BBB's membership works nor how long it takes to become a member. Please read what I've written more carefully.
As for Newegg's statement, that's all fine and good, but according to the FTC, the retailer is responsible for the rebate: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2005/03/compusa.htm

Kworld rebate scam
I too have been scammed by Kworld rebate. They turn you down for whatever reason they are in the mood for. They do not give you any second chances. Be very carefull about the UPC codes on their packages. Make sure you have copies & ask before hand what the UPC number required is?
They have a habit of turning down rebate claiming the wrong UPC was submitted. The rebate form does not mention what the correct UPC number should be. This is just part of their scam. They also make up reasons like there was no receipt included.(make sure you staple everthing together)
Unfortunatley KWorld processes their own rebates so their decision is final of course.
I noticed recently that they are a paid member with the BBB. All of a sudden their rating went from CC to AAA. That is the top of the board rating. I guess the check they sent to BBB must have cleared. When I contacted the BBB to ask why KWorld went to the top of the ratings all of sudden, they gave me a lame excuse that the company is international. What a bunch of *%#&*@^#.
The company has been international since the begining. Also even if the company was bigger, should they not avrage out the ratings instead of putting them at the top. I wonder how much the pay off was?

You won't beleive it until your rebate is rejected by kworld. I wish I saw cee9's post before I hit the order button! I ordered kworld product through buy.com, which like most of the online store that email receipt is the only receipt I got. I purchased a kworld product during the Xmas time. After I placed the order, I saw tons of kworld rebate complains online, and it made me worried. One month later I sent an email to check the status, I got an reply saying it was too early to check the status, and asked to check 4 weeks later. Since the first email to kworld, my mailbox filled with Chinese spam emails! Okay, I waited for another 4 weeks and sent an email to them again. This time they said I don't have original receipt and rebate won't be paid. I don't even have a chance to ask buy.com for an "original receipt" to resubmit. kworld stated again in the email that resubmission of Rebabes request will not be processed. They even don't reply my email anymore. Now, I got tons of Chinese spam emails. If you want to check your kworld rebate status, be sure to open a juck email account first and use that email account to deal with kworld. At least you won't worry about your spam mails in your emailbox if you can't get your rebate back.

I bought the TV tuner from buy.com just 1 week ago. It requires the original sales receipt and all I got the master packing slip. After reading this thread, it looks like I should return the product or I'm destined to lose $45.
I've emailed them whether packing slip is acceptable, but I probably won't get reply. Before sending it back, just want to hear if your kworld rebate work with packing slip? I have online receipt but I'm not sure if they accept that.
Thanks,

REGARDING K-WORLD REBATE
I am also a victim of the questionable rebate program of K-World computer. I bought a KWorld TV Tuner from BUY.COM. One of the requirements was the submission of original or copy of the receipt by Buy.com. When I did not receive my rebate for a long time, on my repeated inquiry they let me know that they have rejected my application as I submitted the Google checkout receipt. I tried to point out that Google checkout receipt is sent by googlecheckout<noreply@checkout.google.com whereas the receipt I submitted was sent to me by support@customerservice.buy.com. So mine was the original receipt. Probably they realized their mistake! Because after that instead of giving a very specific answer to my question they started giving a very blunt and generalized answer that mine was not the original receipt. It was a horrible experience!

Boycott all KWorld products
These people seem to think that they can totally ignore their obligation to honor legitimate rebate requests. I have submitted 5 rebates for 3 purchases, and now doubt that I will ever receive even 1 cent of the $110 dollars to which I am entitled. It has been 3 weeks since I inquired about the $20 rebate for my Buy.com TV Terminator purchase which I mailed on January 2, 2007. I have complained to the BBB, California Attorney General, and Buy.com who advised me to email Candy <at> kworldcomputer <dot> com. Of course she also has not responded to my inquiry. My next move will be to make Buy.com painfully aware of the FTC ruling against CompUSA. I have nothing but respect for manufacturers who honor their rebate offers, but I will not buy from anyone who feels that it is OK to improve their bottom line by making bogus offers.
