Is this practice normal??? ZipZoomFly gets my goat

Hi All,
I know it has been a while since I posted - and most likely several years since i posted anything out side of the mighty and wonderful linux section but i recently (attempted a) purchased a MB/CPU/Vid card from ZipZoomFly.

I have bought from these folks before and it went through okay.

WRONG!! Thier cursed website had the item listed as being in stock. The email telling me my item had shipped may no mention of it. It is even listed on the receipt in the box. Information on the web site indicates it had shipped. I called them and asked them what is up and they told me it was back ordered.

Why would ZipZoomFly tell me it had shipped and that I had even received it if I haven't and they know I haven't?

Do other merchants do this??

Anywho - I told them to cancel the MB and and refund my $$. I would like my goat back too.

This kind of thing happens from time to time to many companies. "In Stock" could have meant an inventory of ONE and someone else order at the same time as you.

Or when they were updating their inventory software, some "human being" on their staff typed 100 instead of 10.

Tiger Direct frequently lists items as in stock when they are not.
