Newegg.com customer service

I was recommended to Newegg by a friend, and was told told that they had great prices. I checked it out and bought a few items (hard drive, ram, motherboard)
And saved a bit of money. The products were GREAT!! I also placed an order and ordered the wrong part for my computer. Newegg let me return it no problem.
I recently had a 512 stick of Ram that I purchased 8 months ago that went bad. It had a lifetime mfg. warranty and 1 yr Newegg replacement warranty.
I sent it back , And they got a replacement to me within the week. While I was waiting for the return, They kept me notified of its shipment status.
Thumbs up for Neweggs customer service!!! Thanks!!

rickhines2, I bought a few computer items from Newegg over the last year and both the prices and customer service is first rate. I exchanged a defective dvd unit without a problem.

On the contrary, I RMA'd an ABIT IS7-E2 motherboard and it took 2 weeks plus the 5 days it took before they even got my product.

I have found NewEgg's customer service spotty. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's abysmal.

It doesn't matter any more, because I'm jumping ship. I can no longer tolerate their prices and the way they gouge you on shipping.

Agreed. They now cost more than CompUSA in many cases, where I can drive there, get my stuff, and come home with it. Plus, I live in NJ, where they apparently have a warehouse, so I have to pay tax also. Brutal.

Newegg is slowly getting on my nerves.

I've been buying from Newegg almost exclusively over the past three years. I'm a weekly shopper and even daily shopper for a few months in a row. I have spent around $25,000 in their store but I think that I've had enough of them at this point.

The biggest blow to their reputation is that little piece of junk shipper they added... UPS (Useless Procrastinating Shipper). They have jacked up FedEx so much that it's not affordable anymore. UPS packages arrive later than projected and when they arrive boxes are all beat up... UPS is so pushy about their service that they keep your packages in your local station for up to three days just to avoid early delivery, while my FedEx or DHL packages sometimes make it from IL to WA in two days (saver/ground). I've been ignoring it until I received an OEM video card that was CRUSHED during shipping. Newegg replaced it but why do I have to wait another two weeks for a part that careless UPS doesn't give a damn to deliver in one piece?

Their service is getting crappy day by day. It's been almost guaranteed to see your item shipped the same day or the next, but in the last two months I've been watching the items they claimed to be in stock shipped after five days (is Monarch buying Newegg out? Doesn't that sound like an online retailer we know?)

The last bad experience was the replacement of a motherboard that was purchased 1/12/06 which turned out to be DOA. I requested a replacement that took about ten days but I received a wrong motherboard that I had to RMA again... since then I'm still waiting for the right motherboard to change status from 2 to 3 in my account (I shipped the first mobo overnight and the 2nd one 2nd day... You do the math to see how much extra I spent on top of a $205.00 motherboard)

At this point I'm taking my business somewhere else... I'll buy from ZZF from now on and if they don't have it then I'll try Newegg. This is very sad since I always loved Newegg... but sloppy customer service and UPS mess on top is not worth my time and business... can't depend on parts that might arrive crushed or broken when a customer of mine is on my porch pulling his/her hair out.

Just my 0.02. Didn't want to change your mind, just shared my horror story which has already been happened to quite a few of Newegg daily customers.
