Read their terms for "guaranteed rebates". Follow the instructions and keep copies of everything. Also check shipping cost as they are known for high shipping charges.

They've supposedly brought down the shipping charges down a LITTLE bit. I've bought many different rebate items from Tigerdirect merchants and I've received them all. One was very hard to track down and I had to call Canada a couple times to get it, but $15 in phone calls later, I had my $20 rebate, that'll teach 'em . The companies are usually small, unorganized and slow, but they usually do deliver, and Tigerdirect has a guarantee to cover it. I scan all my submissions, receipts, invoices, upc codes, etc, and keep the contact info, and keep all that until I get my check(s). Do that and you should be fine.

I don't know how you received anything from Tigerdirect.com. I am still trying to get the motherboard I ordered from them on December 9th.

This place is a scam. They will steal your money. The extra dollar or two you might save over Zipzoomfly or Newegg is not worth it.

I found Tiger Direct to be decent when it comes to getting what I've ordered shipped quickly. But as others mention make copies of everything needed for the rebates and then to qualify for Tiger's rebate guarantee you need to mail every rebate via USPS Certified mail, return receipt requested. I didn't notice that requirement to qualify for the guarantee back in December when I bought a motherboard and processor, and I mailed the rebate documentation in using a regular letter. That may prove to be a big mistake. No rebate checks in my mailbox yet, and Onrebate.com still hasn't acknowledged on the rebate status page that they have received the documentation I sent in. Tried emailing Onrebate a couple of times about the situation but have yet to get a response back from a representative. Figure if I'm eventually paid what's owed on the rebates, that might qualify as a miracle. But more likely I've simply learned an expensive lesson on the value of using certified mail when sending rebates in for redemption. Though if the rebate is small, using certified mail might not be worth the expense since costs around $5 per letter.

Ditto what tigerdirectnoway says.
They are crooks. The BBB history is enough said. Not to mention all the forums with complaints on these people.
My opinion is if a company is offering a rebate they really do not need all the paperwork(only the UPC really) Everything else as far as documents go they have via the Order. Foolish me I sent my stuff into Onrebate and never made a copy of the UPC. (Most companies do not accept UPC copies they must be the original) Now Onrebate is denying the rebate and Tiger is saying "our rebate guarantee is only offered if all the documents are sent" Again it's a tool they use to rip you off. They know most will send the UPC in and never copy it to Onrebate. Once you do this you are short the complete documents and they are then free to deny the rebate due to lack of documents. Shifting the blame away from them and onto you the customer.
They are crooks. I'm just glad they showed there true colors on my very first order with them. Thus now I can avoid ever giving them another dime.
I would think keeping a happy customer and returning customer would be much more profitable than driving customers away and having there name bashed on forum after forum.

On November 4, 1999, case C3903, the Federal Trade Commission issued a Decision & Order against Tiger Direct for violations of the Pre-sale Availability Rule, the Disclosure Rule and the Warranty Act. Without admitting any wrong doing, Tiger Direct agrees to 1) not represent that it provides On-Site Service unless all limitations and conditions that apply are disclosed; 2) fulfill obligations under the warranty within a reasonable period of time after receiving notice from the consumer; and 3) shall cease and desist from failing to make warranty text available for examination prior to sale, failing to disclose what is not covered under any given warranty or the procedures needed to have warranty work accomplished and failing to disclose that certain states may give the consumer legal rights in addition to those provided by the warranty. Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to a pattern of unanswered complaints.
| 3.a.

Specifically our files show a pattern of complaints alleging dissatisfaction with product quality, failure to deliver promised goods, service issues, misrepresentation in advertising and marketing practices and the failure to address and overcome the basic cause of complaints brought to their attention by the Better Business Bureau.

3.b.
quote; Quote: |
Complaints allege customers are led to believe they are buying new, Brand Name computer systems, parts and other products with either a 90-day, or 1 year warranty. Complainants allege they are receiving generic, defective and refurbished items and only a 30-day warranty with the option to purchase the 1-year warranty. Customers who purchase the warranty also experience difficulty in getting return phone calls to get the problems fixed or replaced. Customer are told they may return the items for replacement, but they will need to pay again for the replacement and will credited back when the item is returned and received by the company.
| 3.c.
quote; Quote: |
Some of the complaints have issues with the advertised rebate, both the catalog and web site have numerous offers for items with a mail-in rebate. Upon receiving the products the rebate application is not included in the package. Customers are told the rebate application is on the website and customers are required to comply with the program and submit paperwork that they never received. Many are denied because the product they have purchased does not have the advertised rebate, the rebate has expired, and some rebates are only good if the item is purchased with a computer. Many customers feel they have been victims of bait and switch, and are unable to return the products because the package has been open. Customers who have contacted customer service with concerns have problem with getting return calls, emails, and experience unresponsiveness and unconcerned customer service staff. However, the company has responded to most complaints presented by the Bureau.
