Shipping Bait-and-Switch

I placed an order with So Spacious Inc for two gigabyte 6600GT pci-e cards. At $150USD each it's a reasonable price. But the deal was in the shipping. During the order process none of the shipping options reflected a price over $23 for Canadian orders.

Date Ordered: Thursday 03 November, 2005
Sub-Total: $300.00
United Parcel Service (1 x 9.2lbs) (Canada Standard): $16.66

Total: $316.66

In the note field during the order, I left this:

Your shipping price is very generous. I'm glad I could grab these two GV-NX66T128D before everyone stocks only GV-NX66T128VP. I'm looking forward to rating you at www.resellerratings.com as I see no one has left a review yet. You guys should update your merchant page to reflect your shipping options.

Anyway. I got about 3 more emails from them from people during the process. Including this one on Nov 14th after receiving my mail order payment:

Hello,
We received your payment and will ship your G-Cards ASAP
You should receive another email with tracking information shortly.

Thank you

Then today, November 15th I get this email:

Hello,

We attempted to ship your item but the total was insufficient. For some reason or another you weren't charge the international fees. The cheapest shipping we could offer is $54. ($54-$16.66=$37.34) What would you like to do? We can offer a refund or perhaps you would prefer to pay the difference. SORRY for the inconvenience.

I'm pretty disappointed and inconvenienced. I think they should honor the initial quoted shipping price. Is this realistic? Anyone have any insight into the situation?

Since no one posted to lend their social engineering skills, I just sent this email to the guy... I wonder what the response will be.

I am very disappointed and distraught at this email you sent me. I believe you should honor your original quoted shipping price. The only reason I ordered from your company was because of the good shipping price. Now I'm going to have a computer without a video card for how many weeks? I received two other confirmation emails that came from people, and no one figured this out earlier? I cannot afford to waste two weeks by sending more money in the mail.

Your company has inconvenienced me greatly. Erik, I look forward to your reply so we can resolve this situation.
