Bought from Ibuypower w/o reading reseller first....

About a week ago on 10/31 i made a hefty purchase from IbuyPower.com for a gaming machine that cost me 1700 dollars. I did hardware research before but didnt think to research the company. Having just discovered this website i must admit i'm really worried now after reading alot of reviews of this company on this site.

It seems from the reviews i have a 50/50 chance of actually getting a working computer with everything i specified.

Should i wait and see how the computer is and risk having to pay shipping fees? Should i cancel my order right now and buy from a more repuable company?

I dont know what to do.

Anyone here buy a PC from them? was it worth it?

Only you can truely make that decision. As for who bought from them, that's what you have ibuypower link at RR for.

Is there any other company that you'd want to buy from more than ibuypower at this point or is everything pretty much an equal risk? When it comes to purchasing PCs online, no company is immune to problems, the difference is in how they handle them and treat you after they have your money. On the other hand, companies also compete for a minimum number of such problems and some are better at it than others.

I would treat this purchase as an automatically bad computer on arrival that needs fixing. That way you will be pleasantly surprised if it works out of the box, and be ready to deal with replacements, if it doesn't.

EDIT: Judging from the comments at RR, people sometimes get the same non-replaced parts after the "repair", and some end up wanting a refund, in which case you're paying shipping costs both ways. So, if you truely decided to go ahead with ibuypower, and if your computer has problems, I would write a letter clearly defining the parts you demand replaced and a confirmation from a tech or a manager that they, indeed, were replaced, before having them send it back to you. That might hopefully avoid multiple sending back and forth and extra frustration.

Same story with me, I spent 1400 on ibuypower and it's only been 6 days but these customer reviews are making me scared...

Thanks for choosing RR, dudes !!

Less than 7.5 me no buy. I would say there are much worse etailers you could buy from. I believe you will be satisfied. GL and report back to us.

Palmer, I've decided to stick with my order from iBUYPOWER. Despite their 50/50 reviews I believe that the pros outweigh the cons, if I get a computer with disconnected USB's, incompatable/loose parts but with all of the awesome specs that I ordered, I believe that it will be worth the headache of sending it back for a repair job or two. You can always bring it to a local Geek Squad store if the problem(s) (if they even exist) seem minor. If you do get cheated, you can always call your credit card company and put a halt on the payments towards iBUYPOWER. Screw them back.
