Media Alienware..Why you should buy.

Hello All,
I am a returning Alienware costomer i currently own an Alienware AREA-51M 5500 and a Aurora 5500. I have had an exceptional experience with this company both times i dealt with them. I got both systems shortly after I ordered them. Now for things you may want to know.

Aleinware Price vs Quality
Alienware is a bit pricey, but you get a very stabel and reliabe product. I personally have had my area 51 m for the last year and thta thing traveled with me all over the world on a US Destroyer, and anyone whose been on a smaller ship know that they rock a bit and tend to throw things around, but the computer made it the entire trip unscathed. The system also ran every game I bought smoothly within the graphics limitations ofcourse. The computer has only crashed twice in two years and those were both cause by me and overruning some processes.\All and all I got all the use and more for the money I put into this product, and actually I am writing this review with it.

The Waiting game......
these computers are not for those who do not want to wait a little for a good product. Now I hear a lot of people posting that their computers take a while to get to them and that it is taking to long for what they paid. Now that is because the computers are hand built by techicians at the Alienware Corp. So ofcourse all orders are built on order and not mass produced like dell, so these things can take time with burn ins and hardware tests. Yes there are delays in orders and tey say so on the web page when you order specific parts. I have never experienced this but I know that alienware is very good with keeping you up to date when it comes to your "phase process" and if your not sure they have the online chat, and on site customer service.

Costomer Service...
In my experience with Alienware for the past 2 years I have mostly had a plesent experience with their customer service department. They have always been able to get an answer to my quwstions, it may not have always been the answer I wanted to hear, but an answer none the less. Almost every Customer Service agent I have dealt with has alwasy been polite and willing to help. I have also heard a few people having problems with rude Customer service. One thing someone needs to remember is what ever you put out is what you get back. If you call and are polite then you will get the same back, but if you call up and are rude....well... expect them to not be as helpful, because no one likes to be yelled at, especially if you work customer service. Be pacient and Poilte and you will be suprized how much better your experience may be. and dont take your frustrations with tech support out on the customer service reps, they are not the ones building your computer.

Over all Alienware is a great store, not perfect, but still a reliable and respectable computer store. They have Great systems, a great website and top notch customer service. I would never Chose another store.

Hopefully this has helped you make your descision.

- Matt

I'm sure Alienware has a lot of positives but if I was going to buy a computer online (as opposed to custom-building one myself), it'd be VoodooPC. The first thing Alienware should change is get rid of the cheap looking plastic cases to start becoming more attractive again.

once again falcon if you dont have anything intelligent to say dont post on my thread...i dont need you trolling up my post

and yes netty I have heard nice things about voodoo PC. I do agree the cases could use a revamp. they have been using the same one's for a long time now, but i guess that is the uniqueness in it.

Do you build you own comps too?? I have a home build amd system that runs like a dream. I bought myh alienware because i didnt feel like building a second one. My wife has one comp and I have the other. Intending to upgrade my asus motherboard now for the new asus a8n-sli

Once again Alienware has proven to me its the way to go.

I received, my Aurora 5500 2 days ago. and it came in almsot perfect condition, it had a small software curruption issue. I tried to figure it out myself, being a bit computer savy, but for the life of me I couldnt figure out what it was. I really didnt want to format the Hard drive and start all over so I called the tech support to see if they could help. well after about an hour of troublesoouting, we resolved the issue and all was well. The computer may have not come in 100% perfect condition, but their techs and me helped it get there. Alienwares techs were very curtious and very knowledgable. They can be trusted to help fix your Alienware comp if you so choose to buy one.

All the hardware is running great. The software issue is now fixed THe graphics with the dual 128 nvidia 6600gt's are awesome and it runs all my games great. A few hicups at the start but now its my new gami powerhouse. It is time for me to retire my Alienware Area 51-m Laptop.

I have been thumbing through a few other forums and found a great website for all those who are wishing to buy an alienware computer or are just interested in another persons perspective than my own. This was pulled off a thread from Notebook Forums and I reviewed this persons website and found it very well made and wanted to share it with the rest of you. btw this site was brought to you by Hammerhead.
