I sent my toshiba laptop computer to portablecomputer.com
on june 27 2005 and have nothing but headaches ever since. Do not deal with this company if at all possible. I want to expose this company. The owner WF is a crook. I called him prior to sending my computer for a repair of the LCD due to a cracked screen. He said he had the part and would have it back to me in about a week or so. so I waited 2weeks. I called to check on the progress. he said that he had to order the part. so i waited somemore. I called numerous times. He keep saying he was going to get the part. He finally got the part. He said he was going to install it and send it a few days later. I waited at this point it is now a month later. I called he said he sent it out. I waited another couple of days and no package. I called him back he said he was going to send me a tracking # through email. Well I waited for that too. Still no package no tracking #. Finally one day I played dumb figuring he is probably stringing others along and most liars cant keep their storys straight. I asked him about my computer and he said he is going to send it out. SO, now I am back to square one. I tell him he has had my computer for almost 2 months and he says its fixed but he still has it. He assures me that he will send it out on the following monday. Why not that day I have no Idea but I say ok. So I call him monday asking for a tracking # believe it or not he gives me one. I was amazed I thought finally its over. NOT so fast. I check UPS.COM their mail carrier for and low and behold the tracking # is invalid. so I call him again. he said that he will check UPS and find out what went wrong. I call back he says yep its a wrong #. They cant locate MY computer and he said he is going to make sure they sent it out. I called him 4 times in one day. the last time I talked to him he said he wasnt leaving his shop until he finds my computer. Also he said that he is going to come up with something he doesnt want to beat around the bush with this anymore. I have tried to call him the last 3 days but now he wont answer the phone. I contacted the California Electronice and repair licencing board and also The BBB in Sacramento. I am hoping for some action through them. I sent other emails out to other unsatisfied customers that have dealt with this company. They have been really helpful. I just want to be done with this already. send back my computer and give me back my $395

DONT DO BUSINESS WITH PORTABLECOMPUTER.COM YOU COULD BE NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

recent update

I talked to the roseville police dept. they had served a search warrant at portablecomputer.com office about 2 weeks ago and confiscated all of their computers. So if your looking for you computer contact roseville police dept. They will refer you to a Lady Named ELAINE. The case is currently under investigation.

also make a complaint with the California Electronic and Appliance repair Licensing board # is 1-800-952-5210

also If you have done business with a company that is in california call that # the california Electronic and appliance repair licensing board. They will go to bat for you. Plus if they get enough complaints they will revoke their license.

They have my PC too.

I sent my laptop in for a repair and they got it 8/19...Mr Forrestor has proven impossible to contact within the last week...claimed his website crashed...now I am thinking the police shut it down. I hope they have my computer...I will have to try and contact them soon and the other numbers you listed here.

Thanks for the info.

I just want it back...it was a brand new computer.

I would like to update you on the current situation but at this time I will leave that up to ELAINE contact her at the Roseville POLICE DEPT
If your computer isnt there maybe contact your local small claims court for civil action.

Well I would like to say a big THANKS to
LARA at RESELLERRATING.COM
also I hope LARA doesnt mind but also to 2 other sites
complaints.com and ripoffreport.com

I was asked recently what we can do to stop this guy and others. Unfortunately there are people out there that are looking to make a quick buck. even if it isnt the legal way.
All I can say is I learned a great experience out of all of this.

1. Do your home work. Investigate a company before you deal with them. If I would of seen the bad reports about this guy prior to sending him my computer. I can guarantee he wouldnt have my computer right now.
2. Take photos, write down serial numbers, keep receipts, save every email and record every call that is made so if you end up in a situation dealing with someone like this you will be prepared for battle. Dont trust that things will always work out. Just in case it doesnt you will have everything you need to make the court case as easy as possible for you.
3. inform others. If you have had a bad experience, even it is a small one. Inform others of the situation. Who knows maybe your not alone.

INVESTIGATE DONT BE ANOTHER VICTIM!!!!!!!!!!!

And if it helps, I have probably been the biggest sucker.

I sent in my laptop in Jun-Jul 2004 alongwith $315.00. I got my laptop back in Sep 2004 with no repairs. I resent it back, and he has strung me along for more than a year now. Always promising that he has got one more spare part or that he is just testing it.

Just got lazy after buying another laptop, and did not pester him or complain earlier.

Now, my money as well as laptop are gone. Hope, I get something back!!!
