Got my computer back .... without the LCD Screen
Just got my laptop back from the Roseville PD. What a new year's gift!!!!
All the old painful memories, as well as the laptop....without the LCD.
Will try posting some pics :-)

Re: Class Action?

Very fortunate for this, but the housing for the LCD screen was damaged on my dell. I might just take it into a laptop repair shop and see what they say for how much it would cost. If it is trivial, I'll do it, but I still want WF to cover it, and eventhough I got my computer back, I am far from happy. You might contact your states attorney general, they might be able to help you resolve a claim. I think if a class action lawsuit appears against WF we might give him more than community service. He is a fraud, and I am glad he was shut down, but I feel bad for those who weren't lucky enough to get their computers back | I just don't see a lawfirm wanting to tackle this on a class action basis, and I'm not sure the numbers are even there to make it worthwhile. Even 1000 laptops at 200 each is only 200K...peanuts for a class action attorney.
Thinking it might help to either get a local attorney to monitor the situation, and push the issue re restitution, and let the county know we are serious, or, worst case, we just keep pushing Ed Jones to not take the easy way out on this one.
On a related note, I'll know in about 2 weeks or so what I was trying to do to "help" publicize Mr. Forrester and his antics is going to come to fruition..

Ok, so it looks like the great idea isn't going to pan out.
My plan was to wait for the portablecomputer.com domain name to expire, and then grab it and turn it into a portal for info on everything related to Wesley and his antics.
Using one of the services that watch for domain names to expire, this one got kicked out today, and is already up for auction. I set a max bid of 100 bucks, and one day into the auction, it is already at 105...and gut says, it will go higher.
IF I had group support ($$) and we wanted to turn this into an info portal for the whole Wesley scam, I'm open to raising the bid, but don't care to do it on my own.
PM me if you have an interest in possibly "co-owning" the domain name that has given us all a big headache...

In case anyone is wondering, with 30 hours to go in the auction, Wesley's old domain name is now up to 1349 dollars.

| I've been reading this thread for a few weeks and empathize with yall. However, this is the perfect situation for a class action lawsuit. Just because it may be "small dollar" does not mean an attorney will not look at it. Most class-action suits start out as plain-jane lawsuits. If an attorney knows that there are multiple clients, they will be more inclined to take a case. All they have to do is win the first case - then the rest is easy money.
I would strongly urge those affected by this thief to file - but talk to each other. The more people you have together, the stronger your position will be.
Good luck.

D'u guyz know what's happening with the out-of-court settlement?
I mean the amount claimed by the attorney for the settlement. I think class-action lawsuit will be difficult but out-of-court settlement should be made more painful for Mr. Forrester!!!

Got a message from Ed Jones yesterday.
Wesley plead guilty to the scam, part of the sentencing, at this point, will be resititution to be paid to each victim.
He mentioned that he would have "his entire probation period" to pay everyone back, so it sounds like, just guessing, that he plead guilty, and is trying to get a deal where he pays everyone back, and avoid jail.
