Oh No... I have my laptop there for LCD repair. Just tried to contact them and I see no company any more. They have my laptop for 2 months and said they were getting the parts, bla, bla, bla.

Thanks for these postings! I'll contact the Rosdale Police Dept and see what they say.

If anyone knows more, please post or let me know too. If I find out anything, I'll post the info.

Outdoors PortableComputer.com Sucks

I agree, that Wesley Forrester is a crook, He has been giving me the run around for a year, he keeps saying he will send a refund in the mail, now the site doesn't exist. I gave him $320 and my laptop, what legal action can we take to make sure this guy is out of business for the rest of his life. Did anyone have any success stories from this place. I have one years worth of e-mail correspondance that will hold up in court.

Andrew,

Your best bet for now may be to contact Officer Karlson at the Roseville, CA Police Department, she can brief you on what is going on. 916-746-1069

Good luck.

recent update

I talked to a small claims advisor yesterday. He told me to get a judgement against him will probably be pretty easy. He also told me that to collect might be tough.
He said that you can place a lien against his home. His home was his business site so I think the address will be easy to locate. Also you can go after his bank if he has any money in it. Or if you know if someone that owes him money or settlement. you could place a hold on those funds. Sounds kind of sad but I am thinking my $395 is gone unless he fixed my computer. Which I highly doubt. I do have account info if anyone is interested.

The advisor also told me you would have to file in Roseville small claims. The fee is $25. He said you can do it online. I am in the process of trying to find forms. I will inform as soon as I find out what site I can get the forms from.

I will have to wait to file.
I have to figure out if I have to make a small claim against him and wont know until I find out the condition of my computer.

Outdoors Fraud Alert portablecomputer.com

They got me as well. I sent them a high end HP laptop in March 2005. I have about a dozen emails giving me status. I guess I'm out the laptop and ny $295.

success story

to answer andrew
Yeah I have talked to a few people who were successful in receiving their computers back and a refund. In most cases, the computers were never repaired. He held their computer and money for months and in one instance over a year.
The way they were successful in receiving their items back was to threaten going to the police. Unfortunately, that avenue is no longer avaliable.
lets hope for the best.

account info

He got me too, still waiting on return of my gateway laptop and $295 + $20 SHIPPING. Is there any info to assist claiming against his bank or home / business. Also I'm a long way from CA and don't know the best way to proceed. Thanks.

first in order to put a lien against his home or garnish his account you need to win the civil suit against him. go to the website (placier courts) and file a claim against him. it cost 22 dollars.

if you are out of state I dont know if it would be worth filing a claim. You might want to call the #s avaliable for assistance.
I am unaware if someone can attend the proceeding for you. It might not be worth traveling to california to win a claim against him. Might cost you more than it is worth.
