For all Interested in Alienware

Alienware Earns Highest Overall Score in PC Magazine's Reader Satisfaction Survey; Alienware Wins Readers' Choice Award in PC Magazine's 18th Annual Reader Satisfaction Survey:

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 2005--In only its first year of
consideration, Alienware won a prestigious Readers' Choice Award in PC Magazine's 18th annual Reader Satisfaction Survey and earned an overall score of 8.8 (on a scale of 1 to 10), which represented the highest score of any Windows(R)-based desktop manufacturer. The Reader Satisfaction Survey polled nearly 14,000 computer users and appears in the September 20, 2005 issue of PC Magazine and online at http://www.pcmag.com/sr Commenting on Alienware's performance in the survey, PC Magazine stated, "You couldn't ask for a better debut. With its first appearance in our annual Reader Satisfaction Survey, Alienware receives a higher overall score than any other Windows desktop manufacturer, including much larger players such as Dell, Gateway, HP, Lenovo/IBM, and Sony." In the reliability category of the survey, Alienware also received the highest score among Windows desktop manufacturers, finishing with an 8.7. PC Magazine said, "Alienware's fast, rock-solid desktops prove that even a boutique vendor can take the prize." "Alienware's high approval ratings by PC Magazine's readers mirror the results of recent studies by IDC, PC World, and others," said Brian Joyce, director of marketing for Alienware. "They all reinforce the fact that Alienware is a step above other manufacturers in performance, reliability,
service, and other factors vital to consumers."

I have one and I love it, service has been excellent. Enough said . . . Dr. Scrotius :-)

Well-said Cidjack. Maybe if Falcon will look past his hate of AW he will see 1st of all that the last post was not dec 2004, that is the date Badura registered with this site, the last post was 5/6/2005. . Get it right Falcon if you’re going to open your mouth. . And also don’t be calling me a liar and this survey bogus unless you have proof that it is. I received this article in an email from my financial advisor @ Wachovia who is no idiot so I would really check your facts before you start saying that I am lying. You also state in your other post to just look at what the other people are saying. . Well. . That’s what I am doing. I am bringing in some info from outside this AW haters forum to bring a little fresh perspective in here. If you are bound and determined to hate AW Falcon, fine, go ahead. But don’t begrudge us others who have done business with them, have been treated well, and are happy.

Falcon, calling me names wont change the facts and the facts are that there are a lot of people out there who like Alienware and have had a great experience with them like I have. Also, if you do your reseasrch, which you dont seem to like to do, you will see that the survey results are real . . I checked it out . . so now are you going to call the people at PC Mag liars? How about everyone that participated in the surveys are they liars too? Maybe they are all liars eh Falcon? Or maybe . . you are just blinded by hate. If you dont like AW fine but stop spewing your misguided hatred on those of us who do like them.

I know of to many people that have and had problems with there AW laptop computers. From having bad mother boards, bad hardrives, bad memory, …etc and this is on the first day, just opening their new computer and turning it on (First Day!). What about this is this normally of every computer company? If you think that then we are all in trouble.

I have also know of a very close friend that had problems with calling AW for help and becoming technician himself in trying to fix his bum AW laptop computer from having to take out the hardrives and memory and video cards while being told that he has to do this before AW will take the computer back to depot to have it fixed if he does not. Is this the number one service that AW provides?

I know of a person that had to do this to his laptop computer, and did not want to take his computer apart, but was told by AW that had to, so he removed something I think it was the key board on the laptop computer which AW said he had to remove by prying on the corners and he then damaged the paint and keyboard and was told that AW does not cover that kind of damage to his computer. He did not want to do this because he felt that it was too difficult for him to do. But he had to because AW told him that they would not be able to help him if he does not. This is a company that holds number one PLEASE!

I have many other examples of close friends and family that have spent big money because of all the hype on these computers so it becomes personal to me. So if your happy with your AW computer count yourself blessed. And may God have pity on you when you have a problem, because maybe then your eyes will be opened and see what others and I are saying.

Falcon.

I have had 3 adventures with tech support so far and every time the problem has been resolved and the service has been great. I will say that on one call I did get a guy who did not know what he was doing and I asked him to get me back to the person I had started with previously and he did. So I am not saying they are perfect, no company is, but they are trying and growing and getting better every day. I am sorry that people you know seem to have bad experiences but I am relating my experience, which I know firsthand, and it has been great.

I've had bad experiences with AlienWare this past year and will never buy from them again. I've bought 3 PC's at the same time from them and they all arrived not working. Two had Windows errors that made them unbootable and the 3rd had defective memory not to mention the chassis was scratched up pretty badly. I called tech support and they wanted me to ship them back and pay shipping for all 3. Ok, so I bit my tongue and paid for shipping. Then it took 3 weeks to get one back and another week to get the other 2. I wanted to return all 3 and buy from another company, but didn't want to hassle with them again.

Same incident happened to a coworker of mine who bought one from them after I told him not to. His chassis was dented and scratched and it took 3 weeks to resolve. All in all, from my experience, I wouldn't shop there again.

All one has to do is look at the ratings,ALIENWARE slips down more each month. And their prices are outrageous, been comparing prices for months, and the same system I can get from companies with near perfect ratings cost $800 to $1000 more at AW,with far a inferior warranty. It's a perfect example of success ruining a company, they've gotten too big and think they can charge whatever they like for the name alone, and treat their customers as they see fit.It happened to companies like Dell and HP,and I see it beginning to happen with Monarch.
