Anyone else scammed by Surplus Computers?

I recently ordered an item from them and I recieved it relatively fast. However, it was DOA and I could not get it to work despite following all instructions and troubleshooting at Logitech's website.

I emailed them about the problem and filed the RMA forms for it. I have since heard absolutely nothing from them since. Oddly, I've had to fill out RMA forms before from other companies but none has been so cumbersome or loaded with legal mumbo jumbo as Surplus RMA form is which makes me very suspicious that I'll ever see an email with an RMA #, much less a refund or replacement part.

I've heard of their shady business practices but ordered from them anyway exclusively because of their rating here on resellerratings.com. After getting ripped off though, I went back and read all the positive reviews and noticed they're all first time reviewers with very few exceptions.

I really feel like I've been burned. I trusted resellerratings.com but I'm starting to doubt whether I can trust them anymore. This has never happened before and I've always had a decent experience with online shopping. I feel like word of mouth is a more reliable way of rating a store now than resellerratings.com

One of those reviews should have been from me, and it was a positive one. I have reviewed many companies before.

However, I feel bad for you.

My experience was pretty good although I did not have to deal with an RMA.

Hopefully it works out for you! Good Luck!

Have you attempted to contact Surplus Computers via phone or direct email to follow up on your submitted RMA request? Remember, popular vendors like Surplus Computers deal with a large number of customers, so there are often certain delays involved with RMA processing.

got the DOA from them myself on a cordless drill, I think it was.
They gotta be doing big volume and my results from them have been better than ebay or even traders.
The 21 inch monitors I got from them will always endear them with me.
If one can stand the shipping price for such things they can hook you up good.
But like all vendors they got some discount junk.

All in all I got to give em props for the 5 or 6 times I have ordered.

my general rule is over $50 and i get ill with doa
under that I swallow hard and belly ache to the seller.
shipping prices, and restocking fees make it hard to
digest RMA's at low value items.
luck of the draw like the $10 wireless headphones i recently got from comp geeks, no workee

g/l......... say a prayer and GULP!

Unresponsive to Customer Inquiry

I have bought from them in the past and gotten good service. However I ordered several items on 1/2/2006 and 8 days later have not received a reply to 5 requests on my Order status. Emails are ignored and calls to them are put on hold until they are disconnected. This certainly is not anyway to do business. Will I ever order from them again? Not if I cam avoid it. I would rather pay more and get the kind of service I as a customer expect from a Business.
