dell cs bad
hey, i spent 17 hr on the phone after purchasing a 20 in LCD and it arriving with a screw floating loose in the case. It was not on their problem list so we had to go around and around tech support cue till i finally was told "why are you shaking the monitor to make the screw rattle." they then sent me a refirb which i told them i would not accept and was told i would not get. I finally got to a guy to let me send it back and he asked for the dell system number which i replied it was only a monitor (as i would not ever own a piece of a dell PC) when i gave him the number he said it was 1 number short. i informed him it was the only number on the unit. after saying this 5 or more times and researching, he told me he would call me back tomorrow so i could give him the number that did not exist which he did not do.
I then called them back and had to start all over with tech who was on the business side and had to switch me over to the customer side, etc. I was switched over 20 times and had to start over again! All for a simple screw sliding from left to right inside the case. I ended up with a refirb they would not send a rma for and a brand new monitor. but it took so much time, arg. i ended up sending the refirb back at my expense since they could not find an order in order for me to get an rma. I don't think they ever call their own tech support, lol.
I have talked over 4 people out of buying a dell after this episode as i am the only one of the 4 that knows anything about a PC and if i had THAT much trouble.....
