I called Directv today to get my billing reduced and evaluate switching to Comcast cable which has an introductory promo. My current DTV deal is $52 and includes basic+local+HBO. I quickly got transferred to retentions where I told them (1) I was considering switching to comcast who not only had cheaper tv but also $19.99 bundled cable modem; (2) was receiving dropouts and lost channels on my tuner box (true); and (3) was disgusted by the 35 minute wait to contact customer service (true). DTV offered to reduce my bill $15/mo. for 6 months. A $90 saving.
