Misc Which Movie Editing Software?

Hi,
the software that came with our JVC Camcorder is "Cyberlink"
It's not the complete version and I find it difficult to work with.
I would like to edit some portions out of our home movies but it will only let me cut the beginning or the end of the film.

What movie editing software do you find easy to use??

Thanks, Ann

I am assuming that your JVC is a DV cam.

Free= Windows Movie Maker 2
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...viemaker2.mspx

This is an update to the one included with winXP

Cheap, good and easy: (lots of goodies) Ulead VideoStudio 9
Free trial here:

A bit more $$ but most like adobe premiere: Premiere Elements (free demo here)

Good luck

Ulead Video Studio is a great program and easy to use. I would also recommend Adobe Premeire Elements and Pinnacle Studio.

About $100.00 USD each

Pinnacle Studio 9 is a great tool... actually me dad has been using it for the past 2 days editing home movies from his camcorder including sound, adding music etc...

this is a great program and does an excellent job taking camcorder movie tapes and putting them onto a dvd-r ....

Another .02 cents.

I have actually never been a big fan of Premiere as the feature navigation, etc. just isn't very intuitive (and I've used Photoshop and Pagemaker for years). I've only used an older version of Pinnacle as the first capture card I bought a few years ago was from Pinnacle, but it was very easy to use -- as I assume the newer versions are as well.

Ultimately, though, I've got to throw in my vote for Sony's Vegas Video software. It has a very intuitive "Windows" type feel to it and renders video very well across the range --- from VCD MPEG1, even compressed formats with DivX, Xvid, etc.

If you're looking for a cheap option, though --- this isn't it (somewhere around 4 bills), but, IMHO, it is a good investment since as your video editing skills improve, you won't be as likely to get frustrated with it for being too "elementary."

Misc Movie Editing Software

Hey thanks to everybody!
I will also check out Sony Vegas Video and Pinnacle Studio 9.
Unfortunately, the price of the software is a concern for me.
The more intuitive Windows feel sound very appealing to me.
So, thanks again.
