Father's day is comming up and I'm looking for a homebrew kit for making beer. Anyone ever venture into this realm? I've run into a few on the internet, but I don't know enough to pick one out for my Dad.

If you live near a large city you can find stores that specialize in brewing and winemaking. I would seek advise there. I made wine a couple years ago out of peaches and it turned out real well.

I've made chokecherry wine before and it turned out very well, in fact we still have a 3 year old bottle that we are waiting to try.(and some younger ones)

Anyone with some more suggestions.

Thanks Lara, I went with my dad today and we picked one out. Soon we will have some nice Pale Ale or Hefewiesen in the making.
