Newegg.com = Overrated and... [UPDATE: Newegg comes through in the clutch?]

I just got off the phone with Jason from Newegg.

And I am shocked.

Really. Foot in my mouth.

He understood that this was a major miscommunication issue on their part and after apologizing, helped untangle the webs and got my order up and going again (they did end up voiding the order.)

If these problems in their communication department are truly fixed, than I'll get the Newegg bandwagon and up my rating to "Very Satisfied."

If you want to see the original review I had it's up on the main Newegg resellerratings page.

At 2:49 AM I receive an e-mail saying that the order has been cancelled. Fine. Whatever. They win. Now I got to pay full price for all of it. Newegg gets probably a couple hundred more bucks. Newegg = #1.
Sorry you had a bad time dealing with them, but just because you had a bad time doesn't mean the company is bad. Look at their reviews. I also don't understand you said here. Why would you have to pay full price if your order was cancelled? You don't. Even if you re-order you won't pay full price from Newegg. I've done it many times before.

In short. I've never had a difficult time with Newegg. Sorry that you did. Many members here have ordered stuff from them and never had problems. They aren't perfect, and some people do slip through the cracks, like any online distributor of goods it happens once and a while. Sorry it happened to you.

Well, the thing is they were having a sale when I ordered. Most of the items I ordered were on sale. Now that the sale is over, I won't be able to re-order the items at their discounted price (unless they are gracious, in which case, I'll partially forgive and forget). Yeah, the prices will still be better than most stores, but they were even better at the time of the order because of the sale. It's just THAT more disappointing.

And I don't think that I ever said that the entire company was bad, but it's farrrr from the perfect store people make it out to be. Given this case and some of the others I read recently, I think it's right to say they are certainly a bit overrated.

There's a little verification policy that the shipping address, even if different from the main billing address, HAS TO AT LEAST BE LISTED AS AN ALTERNATE ADDRESS.
This is what it says on newegg's site when you are giving your credit card details:

If your Shipping Address is different than your Billing Address, we will require additional information to approve your credit/debit card purchase and shipping destination.

If you need to ship to a different address, please assist us by doing the following: Contact your card issuer and have the alternate Ship-to Address added as an authorized shipping location in your account records or in the memo field. If you choose to ship to an address other than your billing address that has not been specified as an alternate Ship-to Address with your card-issuer, your order may be delayed by up to several days as we complete verification

I have also had some problems with newegg, mostly with a lot of defective parts, and that they return refurbished parts to you if you send them back brand new parts that are defective

Yeah, I found that little tidbit of info after they told me what the problem was.

Nevertheless, me not catching that information is one of the reasons there is customer support: to fix little things silly customers like me do. It's fine though. As you can see, I edited the first post. Take a look.
