differences between these A64 2800's?

What are the differences between these two models of the 2800 for the AMD?

Also, would buying the 2800 be a better buy than a Intel P4 2.66 Prescott 533MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache. Here's the link to the P4.

I want to go with the AMD since it's going to be a computer fr my dad and he uses his computer like any other average computer user, so I thought it'd be a great bang for the buck buy [like it's always been for AMD heh].

The two correct links are these, right?

Number 1 and Number 2 The only difference I can see is different packaging. These are both for the now outdated socket 754

Personally I would recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting one for socket 939. Either this or this . The second one with the Venice core is the newer version, but there aren't too many differences.

Get the Winchester. I don't think you're going to overclock. And, stay away from Socket 754. It doesn't have much of a future for 64-bit, just Sempron's.
