Buying Digital Camera Advice
Ok, I originally had a Canon A70 that I absolutely loved, but I loaned it to a roomate a couple weeks ago and he somehow lost it. Anyways, he agreed to give me $250 to replace the camera and the 512MB CF card that was in it. So now I'm looking at new cameras. My budget for the camera alone is around the $250, but I have a little extra If I figure it's worth it (though I would mind spending less either). My only real requirement is that it have Manual Zoom... mainly because if a camera has that it usually has everything else I need.
So far through research I've found the this info as follows(prices are from highly rated places only):
A510 3.2MP, 4x Zoom, Manual Focus, SD card @ ~$175-200
A520 4.0MP, 4x Zoom, Manual Focus, SD card @ ~$240-270
A95 5.0MP, 3x Zoom, Manual Focus, CF card @ ~$250-80
S1 IS 3.2MP 10x Zoom Manual Focus CF I & II @ ~$280-330
The A510 and A520 are the identical camera's except for the price and MP's. From that I've pretty much dropped the A520 from my consideration because it just doesn't seem like use of SD cards and 4x zoom warrants the loss of 1MP to the A95.
The 10x Zoom on the S1 would be extremely nice, I'm just not sure if i's worth about $100 more than the 4x comparable model? Anyone have experience with any of these? Any shutterbugs out there?
