USB thumb drive

Any one brand better than the other? Want to back up photos/data to separate drive.

I wouldn't buy one of the wider models. You'll have trouble fitting it into the USB port if other things are plugged into the port next to it. Something like the Sandisk Mini Cruzer is nice. Some of these also come with encryption software or utilities to lock it. Most of the major brands are good, Lexar, Sony, PNY, Sandisk, etc

I just bought an Apacer and though I've used it only a few times, so far so good.

The slim design makes its use easier if your USB slot area is crowded.
