Need advice on what mouse I should buy

I was all set to buy the Logitech MX1000 cordless mouse for my new machine but i've read it may not be the best choice for gaming due to it's weight is somewhat heavy. I have read reviews of a new, corded, gaming mouse called the Logitech MX518 that seem good but i'm pretty used to using a cordless mouse (I use a very old Logitech cordless now) and not sure I could go back to being tied to a cord.

Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I mainly am looking for the best mousing experience that I can get, be it corded or uncorded. I do game but only about 30% of the time, in which I play RPGs and FPSs mostly. Thanks!

Hi, i have the Logitech cordless Desktop express Keyboare and cordless optical mouse , both are great, but the two aa batts. in the mouse only last abt 10 days to two weeks. so i got the Ray-o- Vac 15 min recharge batts, and charger and replace then every 7 to 10 days .if you go on log itech they tell you that the batts last 2 weeks. i hear that the Microsoft cordless last 4 weeks . hope this helps you.

I'd Highly recommend the Microsoft Wirless Optical Desktop Elite. I use it for all my fast paced shooters and hasn't let me down yet. I stick a pair of $4 lithium batteries which are considerably lighter than rechargable or alkaline and they last me around 4 months on VERY HEAVY use.

I didn't think I'd like going away from logitech but this is one fine product.
