Notebook Decision
We were all set to buy an Acer from Envision but this week end there were several promising ads in the paper. Best Buy had the best price on a Toshiba. However that was after rebate and there is no way I would touch dumb enough to buy an item based on extracting a rebate out those people. Staples has a decent price on a Compaq. Circuit City has a Toshiba about 200 more. Do I go with the a dependable company like Staples or risk buying from CC with the uneasy prospect that they might not exist in six months? (we would like to buy an extended warranty so the company has to be around longer than the warranty) Are Compaq notebooks dependable these days? Are the cost of batteries about the same as for a Toshiba?
