Tiger Direct and BFG 6800ultra

I purchased a BFG Ultra 6800 AGP Video Card from Tiger Direct's Outlet Store in Aurora/Naperville, Illinois, that is currently with rebate. When the box was opened, we came to find that the seal was replaced, with the old seal still visible underneath, and the card's anti-static bag was used. Called BFG, they put the blame on Tiger. Brought card back to Tiger (52 miles round trip x 2)Tiger put the blame on BFG.? Other boxes we opened at the store had similar results. Store manager offered a different brand of card at a reduced price, but it was still way more expensive than the BFG card and no life time warranty. They would not (after all my trouble) match the price or make any attempt of any type to compensate me for my time and gas to right this wrong. Not too mention I have probably saved alot of people, including them, alot of grief, time and money, by discovering this very expensive problem.!? I have sent e-mails out to both companies to see if they will try to right this wrong. I will post back, if and when, I hear anything. In the mean time I would not advise to buy the BFG 6800 Ultra AGP.

You did not say whether or not the card worked? If it did, be content knowing you have a lifetime warranty and learn what so many have. Stay away from Tiger Direct.

If I pay for a new card, I expect a new card, not a possibly abused return that could fail prematurely.!? Whether it works or not, is a moot point.

If it had a lifetime warranty & other packages were the same in the store, what exactly was the problem

If the card worked you should have just been happy It was from an outlet store and @ a good price i suspect....your loss for being to picky

ddka. Let me know the next time you pay alot of money for something sold as new LIKE DELICATE ELECTRONICS such as this, and get a repackaged, probably used or remanned unit OK.!? We'll see if your so quick to pass judgment then.? I must be the only one who expects to get a new unit, when I pay for a new unit.?

Tiger Direct sent me a computer with the motherboard loose inside of the case. When I called them to complain I got a guy who did not know what a motherboard was... he told me he would have to dbl bill my CC then and only then would they ship me a replacement.

The moral of the story. DON'T BUY FROM TIGER DIRECT!
