Hands down

Sagar has my vote.

My DELL lappy,Compac lappy & Toshiba Lappy all together
don't equal a Sagar.

I'm droolin over here

lol

enjoy whichever you get

I think if you could set them side by side and you prefer substance over flash the choice would be easy.

Not sure what video there using in nthe current Sager
so thats a biggie for gamin

and load that baby up with RAM

not a lightweight machine though

Best laptop is Sagar, but if you want the absolute newest components this moment Voodoo has the top benchmarking laptop...

One of these might get my vote.... btw Sagar is using the 9800pro and 6800go cards for the most part.

Talking to some gamers in the past

Hard core type prefer VooDoo over Alienware

Ive seen posts here stating they would avoid
alienware.
But the stats for them are smokin.

If I were a student or business Pro that could benefit from a high end notebook and wanted to do some offtime headpoppin, I'd go Sagar.

Cutting edge gamer would prob go VooDoo.

Anything else but an Alienware Area 51m laptop

Alienware 51m Problems

I am from the sweet island of Trinidad and Tobago, land of Soca, calypso and Brian Lara. Listen kid, I have a $4000 plus Alienware 51m ( with which I am presently typing this email) laptop for about only 11 months with a 3 yr warranty and it has not been an easy trip to the mall. I have had to replace my dvd burner once and now after 4 months it started giving me trouble again, the laptop speaker volume is too low, it crashes or freezes up alot (sometimes right after rebooting), you could only burn to certain dvd's and it has a sleeping spell disorder. Sleeping spells are situations when the laptop cannot come out off the sleep mode and on rebooting, the computer comes on but the screen remains blank for about 5hrs. The outer shell of the laptop scrapes easily and the customer service is not the best. And another thing the brightness of the screen dims automatically but this happens now and then. I have had to reinstall windows xp professional for about 6 times. Get the picture.

So you be the judge. Alienware seems not to be good at laptops.

Interms of customer service, Most of the above mentioned problems I have solved on my own and I am not verse in computers.

only problem with that is that voodoo is behind both alienware and dell for the absolute latest mobility graphics chips on their AMD models, and tend to actually cost more for slightly less computer.

what sux0rs the most about it all is that voodoo builds mobility athlon 64 machines, the permier mobile gamming cpu, and last years graphics chip , while voodoo, dell and alienware build intel machines with the latest ati and nvidia graphics chips, so you have to comprimise either way.

One word about Alienware computers……”Unstable”

If you were looking at just using the laptop for school I would (I can’t believe I am saying this) get a Dell.

If you want the very best get a Falcon Northwest but just one thing about this is $$$$. But you get the best of all things a computer that works and keeps working all the time with no problems. I have had my March V Falcon Northwest and I have never had a crash, a lock-up or the BSOD it’s only one year old and it plays all game at the highest settings. The only thing I had a problem with was the video card of which Falcon took my computer back installed a new one + a new power supply, they updated all my drivers and ran it under full load for three days before retuning it to me.

I am now looking at getting my second Falcon water-cooled system very soon.

only time i ever had a stability problem with my alienware laptop was after installing omega drivers on it. typically stability has to do with the garbage you intall on your computer, nuless the hardwar eis just plain broke. i have yet to experience that problem.

my dell, on the other hand, had big issues when i first got it until they released a bios update. working at a university, i have seen so many brand new dells with problems that i will never touch one again. the horror stories about these students trying to get dell to take the machine back to fix it, 3 hour conversations with people in india that ammount to absolutely nothing, i'd get a sager over a dell any day of the week.

but dell, like alienware, finances, and few of these other companies do that. unless you're getting it through a 3rd pary (fryes, best buy), or have a credit card with that much credit available, you'll be saving your pennies.

Area 51m unstable until you get the bios updated

Alienware laptop stable huh? I want to know where you got your laptop because mine came straight from the mothership. You have read my article? Anyhow I got a long awaited bios upgrade from 1.16 to 1.21 (3 days ago) and realised that this was and is the cure for the common cold. I have not have much problems since and a matter of fact, the laptop works much better now. The sleep spell I got from ati drivers are none exsistant. I don't know. Maybe you have a Nvida graphics card and your bios is also updated. But I still say do not by an alienware laptop unless you a maths student who likes problem solving.

Falcon Idea sounds great

I like the service and reliable of the Falcon laptops, i.e according to the Falcon Guy. I am looking to buy a 17" laptop with the full works and if what you saying is true, then I think I will look into it. Alienware I believe is getting better but at a slow rate. There service is better. But they need some time to develop, which I believe is short in the gaming laptop market. So for the mean while look else where. Not Dell.
