Outpost's Sempron Bundles, have you ever?

Has anyone purchased the [Sempron] motherboard combo(s) that Fry's / Outpost.com has offered.

Their reputation is very poor, and I am unable to get satisfactory results when searching these forums, as I have yet to figure out how to get a boolean AND into my search term to limit my results.

These bundles tend to be priced at $75 ++, which will include a retail sempron and a motherboard. The motherboards are usually KT333, but lately have been better such as KT600. They don't offer the brand on the boards, and their warranty is even scarrier than their rep.

I get the feeling that these boards are refurbished, and perhaps even inoperable. If that's the case, it would be a waste of my time, as I really don't care to fiddle with a dead mobo unless I get bored. Calling them on the phone provides no useful information.

I bought the Sempron 2500+ retail box and motherboard combo about a month ago. It came with an ECS k7VTA3 KT333 motherboard which at least appeared new and working just fine. Any way you look at it, the $75 price is still about the same as Newegg. I basically got a free mobo, so I wasn't going to worry too much about it. I've never had a problem with outpost.com other than I ordered something while the site said "call for avaliablity" and it took an extra week to recieve the backordered items. They also did not charge my credit card all at one time. They only charged it for the items they shipped out, so that was a plus.

Ordered the 2400+ Retail Sempron w/KT600 mobo for $77.07 after shipping and tax ($64.99 before). Let us see if it's too good to be true.

I ended up getting the same message, but the cpu/mobo came week later.

I haven't regretted buying my Sempron 2400 and motherboard (ecs k7vta3) bundle at Fry's for only around $95 after tax and shipping (California tax is 8.25% and i use overnight shipping). I currently use it to fold 24/7 and has been folding ever since the day i bought it (December). It's pretty reliable IMO. I have a 512mb ddr333 stick of Kingston ram in there with a generic PSU too with a 20gb hard drive. I love it. Don't be afraid to get any of these. This kind of setup would be great for the kids since they offer a pretty good amount of speed for its price - but i guess that's AMD. It's a bang for the buck CPU heh.
