DakMart -- extortionate slime job

Last November, I bought a watch from DakMart but I did not receive the one they pictured. They ignored me so I posted negative feed back.

The next thing I new, the owner threatened to slime me if I did not agree to have the negative feedback removed. I told him how I felt about his extortionate nonsense and he followed thru and slimed me, along with everyone else who has recently left negative feedback.

If you check DakMart's feedback, you will find that many people complain about this and if you check each person who complained, you will find that DakMart left retailiatory feedback.

I have reported this to eBay, and they replied with a form letter. They don't do anything about this sort of trash no matter how blatant it is.

I am in the process of putting together a DakMart Expose on my Fraud related web site at www.FraudsAndScams.com. I investigate financial crimes for a living, so identifying this slimeball was no big deal.

If anyone would like to have their story profiled there, I will publish e-mails and whatever documentation you have so long as you have the evidence to prove up your claims.

I found out my Dad had inoperable bladder cancer in January 2006. I knew he had a short time left and I wanted to get some of his "memories" recorded so I checked e-Bay and found the perfect digital voice recorder. I won the auction on February 7th and sent a postal money order to Dakmart on February 8, 2006. Within a week, I received a "reminder" from Dakmart for remittance of payment. This was the first of my many contacts with them via e-mail and telephone. I replied to their e-mail saying that I had mailed a money order the day after the auction closed and they told me that it hadn't been received yet, but that they would let me know when they received it. I received a second and final notice a week later with the threat of reporting me to e-Bay for non-payment. I then e-mailed a copy of my money order and they stopped that threat. Because I had sent a postal money order, I could not put a trace on it for 60 days. They wanted me to send another one, but once bitten - twice shy, so I said I would wait until I could trace that one. After the 60 days were up, the Postal Service traced the money order for me and it was cashed by Dakmart within two week of my mailing it. I once again contacted Dakmart and was told at that time they had found the amount I sent posted somewhere else - not under my auction. They promised a refund. It took three more contacts and finally the threat of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau before the refund was finally issued - three months and 1 week from the day I sent the money to them. In the meantime, my father passed away without being able to record his memories. I should have purchased one elsewhere, but being disabled and on a fixed income, I was hoping to resolve this mess first. I left a very simple but truthful feedback on e-Bay stating that I had a horrible experience and would never purchase from them again. They immediately slandered and smeared my e-Bay reputation with slanderous lies. I would like to sue them for defamation of character. Please do something so they do not do to others as they did to me!

Since I posted about DakMart, I have gotten a lot of replies by e-mail. Nevertheless, DakMart continues to engage in slimeball business practices, but I guess it works for them.

They lied to me, shipped me a product I didn't order which was so poorly packaged it arrived missing a part and now they won't take it back or return calls. In America, that's stealing.

I found on their website the uniden phone I'd been looking for with 3 handsets. The web page with the phone did not list anywhere that it was refurbished, but just to be safe I phoned them and they told me it was new in the box, so I ordered it.

It arrived in a beat-up box for the 4-handset model with all the parts rattling around and a piece of tape it looked like UPS had slapped on it. On the exterior of the box they had simply crossed out the 4 with a pen and written in 3. So obviously this was not a new product. Upon opening the box I discovered the battery for one of the handsets was missing and a note identifying the unit as a refurb. Two of the handsets don’t work.

I called them up and told them the problem. They said the site said it was a refurb, we both went to the site while on the phone and it turns out that from one page it does and from the one I ordered from it did not. Yet they still refuse to give me a 100% refund and pay for shipping even though this is 100% their mistake. They're thieves!
