Best Buy/ HP Rebate

Hello,

I need some help. I purchased an HP computer bundle package at Best Buy on November 26, 04. It had 350.00 worth of rebates. a 50.00 printer rebate, a 50.00 HP monitor rebate, and a 250.00 BBY Thanksiving rebate..(not sure what BBY means) Anyways, I believe all the rebates needed to be sent to one address on Mesa, Arizona, so I included everything they asked for the 3 rebates in one envelope, and double checked, I sent them off around December 15th. I received almost 2 weeks ago a check from HP for 50.00 for the printer rebate. I want to know what could of happend to the other ones i am owed. Should I have sent them all in one envelope. I have been searching the net to see if the rebates should of been sent to another location, but cant find anything. BTW, the package # is 19163 and the computer is Pavilion a714x. It does say that I should wait up to 8 weeks for them, but then why would I have gotton the printer one? Please Help.....

BBY = BestBuy

BBY rebates usually take about 8 weeks, so you probably won't see it until the end of this month. If you get to February before you see your rebate check, I would call 1-888-BESTBUY and ask them what the deal is.

At Home Rebate Fun

Best Buy rebates do take quite a bit of time. The most important thing for anyone mailing out rebates is to make copies of what is being sent out (ie. copies of receipts, completed rebate forms, the envelope w/stamp to correct address.) It may seem extreme to have to make copies of all this information, but it is just trying to cover yourself.

This way if you don't receive your rebate, you can go back to Best Buy and show them your copies of how the system didn't work. I would hope they would take care of the rebate situation at that point.

As for sending all three rebates in the same envelope, most often the rebates go to the same town and state, but a different P.O. Box or a slightly different address number. This slight difference could cause your rebate to be delayed, possibly returned back to you, or even lost.

I would recommend sending each rebate in a seperate envelope. I'd rather pay the 37 cents than to lose out on some cash.

This is just my opinion and has so far worked fairly well with rebates for items I purchased not just at Best Buy, but also CompUsa and Staples for example. Completing rebates is like a game, but we have to play by their rules to win...

Hope this may help out,

jp

Best Buy I believe does have a website to track rebates. Try looking at your receipt to see if the have a website listed or at least an 800 number...

BBY rebates as E.R. stated do take about 8 weeks.
Good luck!

Outdoors Never plan on a rebate

I never buy products just because they have a rebate anymore. I've been ripped off several times and have learned my lesson. If the company does not put up the money to the rebate center to pay you then they will just find some reason to deny your claim. My neighbor just bought a computer before Christmas from Office Depot with a total of $300 in rebates. He told me yesterday that he got $180 after sending them in a second time and going to Office Depot and complaining. A salesman told him if he had any problems just come back and they would make it right. Sure! He no longer works there. I tried to tell him rebates were a rip off.
