Maybe not, if he chose his words carefully. The two companies are owned by different people. The related part I don't believe. They might share much of the same office space, equipment, storage, and even employees, but that doesn't mean they're related xD.
They do keep seperate books and seperate names, though. What worries us is usually when a company splinters, it's to sham buyers. That way they can split up the complaints, BBB claims, etc. I wouldn't assume the egg or CV were splintering for this reason, but we are very suspicious without knowing why.
