Notebook Cpu help

Done some research and I am literally more confused then I started with every one's opinion as well as every possible benchmarks.
I want first to buy a notebook either from dell or ibuypower.

Secondly I want to play games on it and maybe upgrade my video card when time comes.

And lastly I don’t know should I go with Pentium-M 145, P4 3.2 or amd 64 3000?

I lean myself more towards the mobile Pentium but im afraid that it’s weak for performance.

Please help have two weeks to decide.

thanks

Lappy Q & A

What's your price range?
The biggest issue you will have for games is the video card.
Dells' XPS, 9100 or 8600 is one of the few that will play a game with some of their refurbs with a ATI 9600 126MB being pushed by Doom3 and similar games. $1800 in a refurb with 1 year warranty. I buy a lot of these and they really are worth trying. Most refurbs are just product returns anyway. you can try them for 2 weeks and send it back if its not right. they only make you pay shipping with no re-stock fee.

Alienware is the premier line for gaming lappys if you have the $$.

If you can find it, try looking at the various IBMs with an upgraded video card. Any survey anywhere will tell you they make the best, most reliable laptop. I love finding a deal on an IBM and reselling them. I never get one back. Thinks are like a tank for stability. They do require a bit of tweaking and off loading bloatware to get the performance up.

If you look at the RR ratings, Powernotebooks.com has a perfect 10.00 rating in the last 6 months with over 800 postings. I have never bought from them but their feedback speaks volumes.

Just a few words from here, good luck!!

my range is towards 2500$CA.
Going to check ibm but dell was on my mind just afraid that you pay more for the name. As well as buying a laptop from ibuy and have no warrenty more then 1 year. You get screwed after and it comes out from your pocket.

Kids

horror reviews? What are you talking about? Powernotebooks.com has a perfect 10 rating. And computers better than Dell in the same price range.
