Lookin to upgrade my vid card

I have a ATI all in wonder 9200 128MB DDR.I would like to get a new card for around 250 bucks give or take 20.I have not had much luck with ATI.I would like to try Nvidia. So if some1 can help me with some info or feedback on a good Nvidia card for that price, that would be cool. Thanx

The card I have is a AGP card.I found lots of the PCI express cards. They are cheaper then the AGP cards, and should have almost 2x the bandwith.Do the PCI express cards fit in a reg. PCI slot?Do any of you have a PCI express video card?If so how do you like it over the AGP?I don't know if I should get a XFX or a Chaintech. Some feedback would be nice.

Splatfreak,

nope, you can't put a PCI express card in a PCI slot, it's a new format. If you don't have a motherboard that supports PCI express, you should just stick with AGP.

For your budget, if you're set on Nvidia, Newegg has an XFX plain-vanilla Geforce 6800 for $278 shipped: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...150-068&depa=1

Best Buy has a BFG 6800OC 128mb with a lifetime warranty and comes with HL2 and Far Cry for $250 after rebates. Awsome deal.

I also stay away from Best Buy, but for personal reasons. Just the bringer of a deal....

On another note, how is it Best Buy's fault you recieved faulty things. That's poor quality control on the manufacturers part. Were there other circumstances that were also in this? Don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning your judgement, I'm just interested in what lead to this decision.

On subject... the 6600GT is only about 10-15% slower than the the 6800 and basically kicks the but out of a 9800pro for around $200. If your into having one of the best for the least amount of money that's a darn good card, If you don't mind spending the extra dollars you can get the regular 6800 off of www.newegg.com if you want.

I think I'll go with the 6800.As for best buy I just don't like them I have had problems with most of the stuff I got from them. They are also over priced.I got some rounded IDE cables over the net for 6 bucks each, the same cable at best buy was 22.99 even after shipping it was still cheaper then going to Best Buy.
