XP Home COA No Media

I am looking to put together some budget systems with Windows XP home. I see that OEM versions w/media usually run around $90.

This company sells the Certificate of Authenticity sticker no/media for $52. What do you think??

TIA

I don't have a clue about this. I wish someone who does would answer.

I'd really have to learn about this too. In Christmas I want to start building and selling budget comps. This will be my first time building anything at all. I've read plenty about hardware and I'm familiar with most of the brands and the popular models, but I haven't really thoght about or incorporated the cost of an Operatiing System. I know that XP Home is the way to go if you're building on a budget but what is this "media" you're talking about. I gotta learn what that's all about.

So long as you have an OEM CD to install with and the COA you buy is legit there is no problem with it. There are directions on the M$ site for legally changing your keycode before you activate but if you just install you could use the license # off COA you have purchased.

I have done this many times w/o a problem. Run a recycling business with my father and we get some COA pulls every now and again. According to M$ thats all you need for legal rights to the o/s thats on the same machine as the sticker.

Heres another, $10 more though.

Food

As crossedup said, you have to have an OEM CD to install using the key code from a COA sticker. Won't work with a retail CD. You can get an OEM CD from places like 9software.com .
