Why did Chiefvalues rating jump from 5 to 9 overnight?

Chiefvalue.com annoyed a lot of their customers with a product recall ~after~ it shipped, due to a supposed "price error". There were a lot of negative reviews and their rating was a 5.0, but overnight its now 9.0 with no mention of the problems other than what was commented on by customers.

Why is this? Whats the point of having this site if companies can just get things changed anyways? Can we trust any of the info here now?

What you're likely seeing are the recalculated results in accordance with ResellerRatings' updated price error policy.

"In the past, our policy was to remove both written reviews and ratings relating to price errors. However, on 10/12/2004, this policy was revised such that written reviews will remain, but each review's accompanying rating will be disabled and will not affect the merchant's rating averages."

In what way does a price mistake constitue our fault as a consumer. Our ratings are just as valid as those saying that this company is the best reseller on the internet. Please note the following on their website regarding the change of orders.

"Change orders

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
•Can I add to, delete from or change my order after I submit it online?
No. Once an order is submitted it can only be amended or edited by calling ChiefValue.com's customer support department. Once our warehouses have scanned an order, merchandise cannot be added or removed. Once any box from an order has shipped, the order cannot be cancelled. "

The website is as follows:

http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/ordering.asp#cancel'

Thank you,

Joshua Spence

Food

If one doesn't read and agree to an online vendor's "Terms & Conditions" prior to purchasing, whose fault is that? Those terms are very similar to Newegg's...

Thier own T&C state YOU cant cancel or stop an order once it leaves the warehouse but THEY decide they can do that though?

If i decided i made an order mistake after it shipped do you think i wouldnt pay for shipping, restock fee plus shipping it back?

This wouldnt have been an issue had the order not being processed, credit card billed AND item shipped. They had my money for 9 days and i had to call to get the shipping refunded!
