Outdoors I need HELP!!!!!!

I am so darn mad!!!!

I have Comcast Cable Internet and I got a disk in the mail to try AOL Optimized 9.0. Well, I put the disk in and I also downloaded the AOL Spyware Protection. Well, the AOL is so slow to use that I want to remove it but when I go to the ADD/REMOVE programs and highlight the AOL Spyware Protection and click Remove, it says,"COULD NOT OPEN INSTALL.LOG FILE." What does that mean and how do I get rid of this whole darn AOL?

Please someone, help!!!!!! I am not that computer literate so if you can tell me detailed explanation on how to remove it, it would be most appreciated.

I can only one thing that describes your problem... AOL. You'll probably have to delete the files manually and rid of the registry keys as well.

MIGHT TRY THIS?

If you don't know how to run REGEDIT
in your run box, to search and remove the proper registry keys,
therefore removing unwanted programs-files-and orphan files.
You may want to try a third party utility like this one that will do it for you.
READ TWICE, USE ONCE !

but do some reserch on how to run regedit, you need to know this stuff.

good luck.

Hi,

I think I have it all figured out. Is this right: Just delete all of the AOL from the registry?

Am I right? I got to thank you a whole lot for all the help.

I forgot

sevenal,

The files are deleted but I forgot to tell you that I cannot delete AOL Spyware Protection and America On Line from the ADD/REMOVE programs box. It still says I have them but I do not so do you know how I can delete those two things?

I wish it were as easy as right clicking and highlighting delete .....oh, well

Thanks again.

Well, it does not work but at least I have AOL out of the system. It is just the words that are left in the ADD/REMOVE programs box that I cannot delete.

Thanks anyway, Karen T
