long beep at start up

I Would Check your Memory and Video Card Just in case to make sure it is properly seated sometimes this is a problem and should always be looked at also the thing about it starting and not sometimes check in the bios to make sure the correct speed is set for you cpu sometimes ya may overclock it and not realize it and by doing this more the cpu is capable the computer does not start but i would still wait for some other replys these are usually my quick fixes.

System Beeps (as i remember)

Long Beeps endless loop continuing (memory installed either not detected or seated correctly)

Long Beep followed by 3 short ones (usually the video card sometimes they come loose and ya have to check them)

Loud beeps with system going (usually CPU Problems)

Single Beep (normal at system startup)

Hopefully this helps good luck on your problem.

what brand motherboard is it and what is the bios manuf? sometimes different bios co.s have different codes, however it sounds kinda like the cpu fan might not be sending the correct signal to the motherboard all the time.

make sure its connected to the header on the mobo correctlyand securely

side note this thread belongs in the general tech forum not the discussion/buyer guidance
