A COUPLE OF THESE MAY HELP

IF you have a ports in the front of your case and any more in the rear of the case, install some of these.

Pull in from the front and exaust out the back.
Also know that AMD runs hotter than Intel.
I agree that resetting the heatsink with some new clean
thermal paste may help.
Also those stock AMD fans are just enough to meet spec.
There are some great cpu fans out there.
The ORB. is really loud but keeps the heat down well.

I like the system you have now, nice rig!
I would cure the box you got, even if i had to put a hundred bucks or so in it.
Also sometimes round IDE Cables help air flow.

Depends on what chips you are running now. Between the AMD64 chips and the Prescott chips the Intel puts off more heat.

I had my system 2500+ OCed to 2.2Ghz (3200+) with the stock heatsink and two low flow quiet case fans. Kept it around 52C load. Not bad for a stock fan.

I'd recommend the Thermalright SLK-900/U as the best Heatsink you can possibly buy. www.svc.com has best price on them at the moment.(as far as I can find.) Keeps that same OC cool to 38C load with Enermax 60CFM fan @ half speed.(completely silent)

thermalright

The thermalright are some awesome hsf's but they do weigh more then the specified maximum of the athlon 64. AMD recommends 450g or less while the thermalright weighs 650 w/o a fan. A very nice heatsink/fan in spec is the swiftech mcx-64v....of course, if you rarely move your computer around then this probably isn't an issue and I would say go with that thermalright or the switech mcx-6400v which is the heavy version....

-intel runs substantially hotter then amd right now on the newest processors...of course when amd moves to .90nm that may change...

update

I opened my case and noticed how much dust it contained and how cheap it was so I upgraded to an Antec lanboy and replaced my heatsink with a better one (harder than i thought.) Temprature is avereage abot 47 celsius now..

Main problem now is reconnecting LED's to the motherboard.. GEEZ I never knew there were tiny connections with no explanation like that. System works fine, some LED's don't.

Thank you all so much..i can keep this comp for a little while now before i dish atleast 2k into a new one.

check the owners handbook

Your Mainboard will should have come with an owners guide.
It will have a page showing the pin connections for your.
PWR= power
HDD= Hard Disk Drive
ect
If you do not have the booklet, you can find it on the internet.
Just look in your case and you'll find the model # printed on the Mainboard.
Then do a google search with that.
You can get it.

Also many boards will have tiny print on it showing the locations
of each LED connection.
