Been using all flavors of both for about a year now, Firefox kicks butt, but only if you have the right hardware. CPU speed not as bad as a slow HD.

I was like you, I was a bit timid, hated the thought of losing my favorites, all that. Mozilla didnt import them quite right at that time, i just manually redid them. Been gradually moving up the mozilla/firefox chain ever since.

It is to the point now where i use the firefox bookmarks, which are saved as a html file, as the homepage for all my systems that are still using IE. Not many but this laptop im typing on is one.

Do it and use both for a bit, see how you like it. Popup blocking is nice, so are the extensions.

I've used it now for about 6 months. I would not go back, especially with all the security risks in IE.

Glad you like it, its on my list of things to include on a clean install of any O/S anymore.

The tabbed browsing rocks. Bookmarks are excellent too.

Firefox is nice but just doesn't do some of the things I want (things I've become used to with Opera, like panels).
It does blow away Opera in some areas though, such as adblock (Opera's filter.ini just doesn't even come close to adblock's usefullness) and extensions (Opera not having anything like them at all). The way it draws a line when doing mouse gestures is also awesome. Makes it alot easier.

some things just dont work in Firebird for me. Some websites dont load correctly like they are missing a certian think that is just for IE and other times it takes a long time to open a nwe browser so i will click it a few times and open like 3 of 4 broswers. (i dont have a slow HD or CPU). Otherwise i really like it havent gone back to IE yet cept for a few things.

There are a few things i have to go back to IE for. A few sites where I pay bills dont work right with Firefox.

My wife doesnt use it because it doesnt do a few of the webcam sites right.

Other than that, its used 99% of the time.
