Wow, I just built something w/ pretty much the same parts for a client not too long ago.

You've got some good stuff there for a "first-timer".

Awsome rig but.....
In a totally personal oppinion I'd recommend this

Thermaltake Silent PurePower, 420W ATX power supply.UL, CSA, TUV, CE Approved. Intel Pentium 4 Compliant
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...153-006&depa=0
(plus it's cheaper because of free shipping)

If you are planning on staying at stock speeds with everything, go ahead and stay with the X800Pro, But if you have any interest in overclocking and getting the best bang for your buck I'd recommend looking at a 6800GT. It uses the exact same GPU and memory as a 6800 Ultra, only being clocked 50Mhz slower. Plus it isn't crippled like x800pro which has 4 less pipelines than the X800XT.

Also, is there a reason why you are not going for a DVDRW drive? The new technology Dual Layer drives can be had for around $80 and would be a better investment than that combo drive.

I really have no interest in burning DVD's I burn a CD about once a month. And Mr Evil Rick Sir, I am a first timer, i spent over 24 hours doing research. I'm hoping this rig will last me a while. I can't wait for it to come in the mail. I'm very scared though. It all looks very scary, but I am sure it's easier than it looks.

The only reason I suggested it was that a DVDRW can burn CDs just as well as any CDRW and can read DVDs as well as any DVD player. Anyways It was only a suggestion for a better investment in the computer. The extra storage space of a DVD could come in handy in the future.
