There should be a power cord that plugs in to the wall and a cord that plugs in to your PC.Did you check and see if your video card is seated in all the way?Is your video card in a AGP slot?

I have had the same problem and fixed it. Built a computer, turned it on, the fans, lights, and hard drive runs, but the monitor says it isn't getting a signal. I figured out that it was a bad piece of RAM. Try removing your ram and then try booting up your PC. This may not be the solution but it is worth a try, it helped me and I hope it works for you.

My video card is tightly fitted in the agp slot and the monitor cable is connected to it... since i dont have intergrated video for my motherboard
