Say no to PROVANTAGE.COM

I just got an email by this company which is PROVANTAGE.COM, and they told me this:

Dear Provantage Customer,


Occasionally, the price may change on an out-of-stock item due to an
unexpected cost increase from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, an
unexpected cost increase has occurred on an item you ordered, Provantage
part# PNYV03P. As a result of this increase, our new price is $448.20.

Please advise if we should proceed with your order at the new price.


Now when I placed my order I was confired for $348 and that was 4 days ago, it's not my fault the price changed AFTER the order was placed.

so what did they do? That sucks...i would make them give it to you for the price you had orderd. Do you have confirmation or anything on the sale..??

Yes, I got screwed over as well. It's quite shady.
They advertised the PNY GeForce 6800 GT for around $330, and took orders at that price for over a week, then dropped a bombshell on a TON of buyers that they WOULD NOT BE HONORING THEIR ADVERTISED PRICE. No apologies, no nothing. When they sent me the above e-mail, I e-mailed them back questioning what they were doing and they did not even give me the courtesy of an explanation. Then just canceled my order WITHOUT TELLING ME.
Worse, they even put a hold on my credit card for the $330 so I couldn't spend it elsewhere, not to mention all the deals I watched fly by on vid cards at other places since I thought I was set. Now I can't find a good deal on a graphics card anywhere.
Stay away from provantage, it's clear that when faced with the choice of costumer satisfaction and their own money, they'll always screw you.
