Expecting delivery... while away on vacation

I'm expecting a delivery from fedex on the 27th, but I'll be out for the whole week and there will be nobody at home to receive the delivery. If i'm correct, I've heard that after a number of failed deliveries fedex will ship back to the vendor? Is there any way to tell fedex to delay the delivery for a couple of days? I've looked all over fedex's site but can't find the right email address to mail to.

I don't know about delay, but you could have it delivered to an alternate address.

I did the same thing when I went on vacation. Worked no problems.

You could leave a note for it to be delivered to a neighbor? If that works?
