Welcome to ResellerRatings!

The best way to go about your search is to categorize the vendors according to their ratings. Search for all vendors with ratings above 1 (minimum limit), sort by ratings, then go to the last page. You can then work you way backwards to scale up in the ratings.

Here is a pre-generated search.

Hope this helps,

wow, there are some top names rated low....!!

ATI, Circuit City, Gateway, BestBuy.....

Is that an overall rating or just online shipping...or both?

They are rated low due to their size. They receive thousands of complaints (RR and beyond) due to millions of sales, though few positives due to them being major retailers that everyone uses regardless of their ratings. It is for these vendors that a person's own common sense evaluation must come into play.

I don't think that's the only reason they get bad ratings.

The bottom line is that most people who use this web-site are deal seekers and big names such as Best Buy and CompUSA simply don't need to have as competitive pricing as smaller companies. Thus, for the exact same product, their price is usually more expensive.

Not only that, but many companies (most notably CompUSA) try to drive down prices using Manufacturer's Rebates, which are notoriously shady. Many companies that offer Mail-in Rebates will deny them (after the offer expires, of course) for ridiculous reasons like not putting the postage stamp close enough to the corner, or stapling the form incorrectly. Worse still, many big name companies advertise the mail-in rebates of manufacturers that are on the verge of bankrupcy, which means you won't be getting your rebate.

It used to be that big name companies could charge premiums for their names and popularity, but that has all changed now that people can use resources like resellerratings to research businesses that they've never heard of.
