Help with 9800 pro? choppy all of a sudden

Hi, I need some help with my radeon that ive purchased about 3 months ago.

When i first baught my whole new system, i looked a the video card ratings on the internet and thought 9800 would be the best for me. So i decided got it stock with my system."custom made"

when i first got it, i installed the drivers that came with the cd, and it worked excellent on everygame, when i was playing Warcraft 3, it would never even chop up, even in the biggest battles.

3 months have passed, and now when i play warcraft 3, it starts to chop up "pretty badly" at intense parts?? " battles start to become hard to control in, look at my specs for my pc below, and please tell me if this is normal or not. because i dont think it is

i thought 9800 pro would run this game like a brease.
im not sure if its my
-motherboard
-Ram
-Or drivers

for anyone with any suggestions please give me feedback.

thanks
lesysh

Have you updated all you're drivers for your vid card, mobo, etc.?

Have you defragmented your hard drive lately?

What processes do you have running when you go into task manager? Are there any that take up excessive amounts of resources.?

You might have spyware or something else. go to download.com and get adaware and run that.

You could try a reformat to get rid of all of the junk that has accumulated on you're computer but that is more of a last step.

Others will probably come up with more stuff but try some of the things above and see if that helps.

You can get the newest drivers for you're mobo here
http://www.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=...eluxe&langs=01

I honestly don't know what's wrong, but my gut instinct tells me it is something with the hard drive. It sounds like It could be cluttered and possibly fragmented. Then again it could be one of many other things.... My cure-all is to reformat the HD. I usually do it every six months or so as it immensely speeds up the entire computer. Just make sure everything is backed up.

But of course make sure everything is defragged and spyware/adware free which is sounds like it is.... just double check.

still not working

i have tried everything, i took off my zalman heat pipe cooling to see if it was connect to the gpu good enouph and it seems fine.

the drivers are 3.10 and i read about them and they work great

i was testing farcry on my computer, and it worked fine, no flaws or chop ups at all.

but warcraft 3 is still running so damn choppy, could i have a faulty graphics card??

again i am running

intel pentium 3.0HT 800 fsb, 512 cache
p4c800-deluxe
ati radeon 9800 pro (with heatpipe cooling taken off for now, and added the old cooling that came stock)
xms corsair dual (512x2)
and my cpu runs at 25 degrees

now i do not see what the problem could be

because warcraft 3 ran without any flaws or choppyness, when i first got the computer 3 months ago

for n e one with the same kinda problem please give me feed back

thanks

lesysh
