Need Your Ideas On A Few Purchases

Basically there are 3 items I need some input on.......

What Laptop would be best for Busineess/personnal use I have $1400 to spend. What manufacturer/model should I go with?

Another purchase I have $250 to $275 to spend on a 3 in 1 printer/copier/fax...It needs to have all 3 qualities which is the best in that price range?

Finally which Gigabyte motherboard/chip(AMD)/memory would you go with if you had $275 to spend?

Would appreciate your feedback .....Thanks!

Ok questions for you. Is the mobo/cpu/memory for an office setting also?

And is there a reason that the mobo has to be gigabyte?

My opinions only

1. For the money...IBM. That anti-shock technology is WAY COOL!!!

2. Epson CX3200, 5200 or 5400. I love mine and it has been cranking for well over a year, everyday.

3. Who?? Kidding...I use ECS for cost savings or my ASUS AMD64 board is rockin' right now.

Good luck!

oopps!

2. Sorry, wrong kind of 3 in 1. Didn't see the fax issue. These don't have that. But as far as a 3 in 1 wihtout fax...they all do real well.

I'd recommmend this mobo EPoX "EP-8RDA3I" nForce2 Ultra 400 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket A CPU -RETAIL
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...ion=13-123-208

This chip AMD Athlon XP 2500+ "Barton", 333 FSB, 512K Cache Processor - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...103-379&depa=1

And for memory depending on what he wanted to do with the system either this
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...146-898&depa=1
or
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...144-609&depa=1

You can also bump up the processor or amount of memory to meet your $275 limit.
Will this be used for games? Will he possibly want to overclock in the future?

i agree with all that. i use that motherboard and it ROCKS. nice processor too. for the RAM id go with pc2700 RAM just for the cost because your son (if he is advanced enough) can overclock the RAM to 400MHZ (which is pc3200). that motherboard is great for OCing.
