Ok, aside from the bad reviews for Cyber Power the Monarch system is a MUCH better deal IMHO.
Listing pros and cons I get:
CASE: monarch wins. Cyber Power uses a generic case with a weaker power supply and chances are inferior cooling.
MOTHERBOARD AND CHIPSET: Monarch gives you the retail box with fan, better value. Other than that, they are =
HARD DRIVE: Take Western Digital over Seagate ANY day - Monarch wins again.
MEMORY: =
MONITOR: Viewsonic flatscreen is the hands down winner. Monarch again.
SOUND CARD: Audigy 2 sells for about $80 - $100bucks more than the old 5.1 surround and is a definite upgrade - Monarch again.
VIDEO CARD: This is the only part of the PC where Cyber Power wins in the head to head. You could go with the Cyber Power PC JUST to get the higher end video card but you will likely have a far better experience with the Monarch system. The FX5900 is a fine card and you would probably be quite happy with it.
SUMMARY: It appears that Monarch has used top quality components throughout their system whereas Cyber Power has built their offering around a top Motherboard/CPU combo using the cheapest components they can and then added the hot new video card to sell their system. You may get a great PC and you may have a lot of problems down the road due to cheap components and inferior cooling - something you are far less likely to experience with the Monarch offering.
For myself, if I was not satisfied with the video card I woud wait till the next generation cards come down in price (in about 6-8 months) and then upgrade to the top of the line Nvidia card.
Why Nvidia instead of ATI? Mainly because the ATI cards are having problems running games on PC's that use the NVidia NForce2/3 chipsets and if you are running AMD you will get AMAZINGLY better performance from this chipset.
Yes, the K8T is an excellent offering from MSI but that would be another upgrade I would make... to a Gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP with the NForce3 chipset.
All that being said, I do agree with the others that you are better off building your own system IF you are comfortable doing it. Not everyone is.
