Help! need old Fry's Bay Area B+M Hitachi 200GB rebate receipt ($40) from March 19th

I purchased a 200GB Hitachi HD from Fry's Sunnyvale on 3/19/04. They had two advertised rebates, a long period one for $90 and a one-day-only rebate for $40.

According to Hitachi, my $40 rebate was rejected because the window for sending in the rebate was 10 days, ie, it had to be postmarked by 3/29/04. Mine was postmarked 3/30/04. But nowhere on my copy of the rebate receipt I made does it indicate ANY required postmark date.

What really frustrates me is Fry's won't help me because they claim that my copy of the rebate is not complete; it's cut off at the "Offer valid in the 50 United States..." sentence, which is the limit of the 11" paper. I find Fry's objection very silly because all the rebate requirements are listed in the middle of the rebate receipt anyway; the rest is irrevelant. They also claim that they do not have any old rebate forms on record, so they cannot do any verification.

So, I'm wondering if anyone else out there has a FULL copy of their $40 rebate receipt that they can scan for me to help me out. (And who knows, maybe there is a postmark date listed somewhere at the bottom of the receipt; although I've never encountered a Fry's rebate that had such information, at least I could shut up already.) Either way, it'd be greatly appreciated. Just for clarification, this is the Minnesota rebate, not the Florida one.

And even if no one has it handy... it's a lesson for everyone to make full copies of the rebate receipt to ensure that the retail stores will cooperate with you. And to remember that all these rebate handlers will try to screw you in any way possible. Heck, they also rejected my $90 rebate as well initially claiming it was also past the postmark date... and even though it was corrected and now shows up as "processed and you should receive it" on rebateshq, I still haven't gotten it.
