Video Card Help PLZ........

I am trying to put together a new PC. What is the best Video Card for the Money. I've seen 256MB cards as cheap as the $100 range. This seems to good to be true. I know I want at least a 128MB card ATI or NVIDIA don't matter.

Thanks Travis

Don't be in a hurry and you'll see one posted here thats used.
Thats the way to max out your dollar.
But I gotta say there is really little differance between a GeForce4
Ti, thats 64 meg or 128 meg. better to put your $ in system ram.
Not too far back i saw some great cards here in the $60 to 80
range.
Might check to make sure with the seller if the card has been OC
or not.
g/l eaton and welcome to these boards.

No these are brand new prices. Over at Newegg. Whats the difference. I don't really know all the numbers. I am hoping some PC Veteran to give me a "this is what I'm using and it only cost me xxx".

What would you guys reccomend in the $80-$150 range. Or if you are upgrading sell me you old one - Sevenal

Your best bet right now would be the Saphire Radeon 9600pro 128MB.
Don't buy in to the 256MB trap unless your buying more the high end cards because they can often be slower than their 128MB counterparts. www.newegg.com should give you some of the best prices.

I'd suggest this for $128 shipped. SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9600PRO Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "ATLANTIS RADEON 9600PRO" -RETAIL

And if you are in a hurry to get this PC together, by all means, get your vid card now, but if your willing to wait a month or so more a new round of cards are comming out. That should drop the prices on some of the high end cards now and provide you with new, possibly better options for your PC.

If you are even more budget minded you can try a refurb for around $100. $108 will even get you a 9800SE. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...tby=14&order=1
