where to report a company?

Is there an official service in USA where you can report a company, for misleading and not sending you the goods after they received their money? In my case, I wire transferred an amount as it was on their invoice in order to buy scientific instruments. At the invoice they charged around $27 for wire transfer fees. My bank in order to wire transfer, charged me a local fee of $14. Then their bank charged them $30 for the wire transfer, so they received the amount on their invoice, but it was $30 short. As I explained them, and sent them the official bank invoices, I fully paid my transfer fees, and that the amount missing was actually paid again by me since I was charged $27 on their invoice. Guess what! They insisted that I should have paid them the missing amount of $30!. That way is like making money from bank wire transfer fees, which I don't think is legimate. Therefore I demanded that they either send the items that I bought or my money back and they sent me back a check with the amount that they received. So, not only i didn't received my goods, but I paid $44 for the total of the invoice fees and the
bank wire transfer fees. They also accused me of taking out money (how on earth would that be possible since the bank requires an official quote in order for a wire transfer and I emailed them the official bank receipts)
Is there a service/organisation in the USA that could handle such situations?

Any info will be much appriciated.

The BBB can help with negotiating disputes, but it is not your last recourse. If you truly believe fraud has taken place, you can also contact the attorney general's office in the vendor's state for additional information and possible resolution.

For future reference, it is best to do business on the Internet with a credit card. The bank that issues the card will not charge your account if you do not receive goods paid for with the card. Especially good cards to have for online shopping are Amazon.com Visa and Yahoo! Visa. Both offer insurance for online purchases. Any vendor that does not offer Internet purchases is outdated and to be avoided. You would pay nothing for wiring any money this way either. Jim
