A simple gaming PC buying question

In all honesty can we not be fanboys for 1 min. and give an honest answer. I'm wondering if I configured the same exacty system from Ibuypower and Voodoo will I see a difference? I mean all those bios settings and stuff like that, does that make a difference in my games and the frame rates I get? I mean cause were talking about a 800 dollar savings. The PC I'd be getting would have the Extreme Edition chips and latest and best video card.

Well say I'm also talking about velocity micro, prob. a better build quality. I mean a 10-40 frame rate diff. is something I dont want. Also Dell's XPS system is something I've been checking out.

Im not very into it..... but it will be good if someone has benchmarked its own system vs a retail one with the same hardware... $800 bucks saving is a lot..... you can even build another system with that...

I realize that you're looking for a top of the line system, but imo the Extreme Edition chip just isnt worth the extra cost. same with the difference between a 9800pro and 9800XT is like %10 for $200. It would be worth it to use the savings to go towards a high quality speaker setup or a better monitor because those will make your gaming experience more enjoyable as well. I would rather have a system with 15% lower frame rates but better monitor and speakers.

if your talking about a game that will run 150 fps , you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 150 fps from 200 fps . you eyes just ccan't see that difference .

Yep, the naked human eye can't see more than 70fps I believe.

Well then I guess I want a machine that could ensure me that it'll be playing games like that for ATLEAST 2 years or less untill I put a single upgrade in it.
