For those who think rebates suck....

yes..the dreaded rebate.

I notice so many negative thigns said about rebates etc....I thought I would just show a positive instance.

I sent two staples rebates off on march 4th.....they came back in the mail to me yesterday mar 27th.

$23 days turnaround time isnt too bad for $70 worth of rebates.

so for all the horror stories there are also plenty of easy simple rebate transactions

yes but you forgot the people who forget to mail in the rebates and when you clean up your junkpile there's some rebates that have to go in that day or something! rebates were made for the lazy people. companies obviously figured that out somehow.

Yeah, most of the time those people that complain or whatever about the rebates not going through or being 'screwed' by the companies, it's actually the person's fault for not getting all the info that the company said they needed on the rebate. Well, that and also people forget to mail it in on time.

I'm not saying all rebates are great, some particular companies are harder to work with than others, but the rebates are all designed for one thing: to make the company more money by more people buying things, and they know that it's human nature for a lot of people to put things off or leave out some things that they require so the price it at where they will make a little profit or just break even for those that get their rebates, and then those who don't send them in, don't send them in properly or send their's too late, that's an extra $20, $45, or whatever for the company. All pure profit.

so true....but they have no right to say the REBATE sucks, lol....its THEIR fault.

I think rebates totally rock!!

----

and you are EXACTLY right....rebates prey on lazy folks....thats why rebates totally work...because there are no shortage of lazy American folks, lol....they screw the rebate all up..then cry about how life is unfair.

----

good, they make it easier for me, lol....the rebate company doesnt mind giving me EVERY rebate I apply for....cuz they know for every rebate I get..there are 5 people who forget to send it in....so actually....those lazy people are subsidizing me!!

Thanks lazy people!!!!

Quit talking about me, JP...

I've many a time sent in rebates without problems, but every now and then I forget something and then I just hit myself in the head. Ouch! It helps me not to do that very often.

I read somewhere that only about forty percent of the time do eligible purchasers even files for rebates. I personally don’t hinge my decision to buy an item on rather I’ll get a rebate. I’d prefer to find the deal without the need for rebate or if they have a rebate one of those instant rebates.

I’m one of those sixty percent individuals who never seems to get around to filling out and sending in the necessary material.

Regards,
Zotz Mein

the bad thing is..that even of the 40% who DO send in the rebates..the companies STILL reject a certain % of those for no reason....knowing that only a tiny % of those who r rejected will follow up.
