Kids 100Mbps supply vs. 10Mbps router !!!

hi. i have a 10Mbps router and I am planning to use it. I have calbe supply and it shows that the speed is 100Mbps. if i use the router to connect my pc with the cable internet, 100Mbps, would my speed go down to 10Mbps since the router is only rated 10Mbps? Do you have any suggestion of routers that I can maximize the 100Mbps speed?
Thank you.

Welcome to TechIMO

Considering on your BEST DAY your cable modem won't ever go above 3MBPS I don't think your 10mbps internal connection will hurt ya much

Even if you were transferring files on your LAN at 10mbps you wouldn't notice that much difference going up to 100mbps unless you were transferring large files.

Your fine on your current hardware

thank you for the info. now i understand the difference. but why is my cable modem can only go as high as 3Mbps on the best day? hardware constraint or that's really how fast cable modems are? is the there a modem that goes more than 3Mbps?

its no the cable modem, its the cable service. Your internet service cable provider is whats limiting the speed of your internet.
